Randle Engineering Shortlisted for Engineering Innovator of the Year | Innovation Awards 2026

Randle Engineering has been shortlisted for Engineering Innovator of the Year at the 2026 Innovation Awards, recognising the company’s continued investment in skills and its ability to turn new ideas and technologies into practical solutions for customers. The Innovation Awards recognise innovation across a range of sectors, including engineering, manufacturing, sustainability, construction and life sciences.

Randle’s entry highlights the company’s approach to development and application of engineering tools to solve complex problems, including the commercialisation of internally developed software and the adaptation of existing technologies for new applications.

One example of this technology transfer is RS Auto, an engineering software product developed from an internal toolset and subsequently commercialised for the wider market. In its award entry, Randle also highlighted its work with Certo Aerospace, where a powertrain mounting design tool originally developed for electric passenger cars in an overseas market was adapted for use in a completely different application involving a heavy-fuel powered UAV / drone.

The entry also demonstrates how innovation has become embedded within Randle’s working culture, with engineers encouraged to challenge established approaches, develop new ideas and find more efficient ways of delivering solutions for customers.

Ally McMahon, CEO at Randle Engineering, said: “Being shortlisted for Engineering Innovator of the Year is a real recognition of the work our team is doing to push engineering forward. Innovation at Randle isn’t simply about developing new technology for its own sake; it is about finding better ways to solve problems, applying engineering knowledge in new ways and ultimately delivering better outcomes for our customers.

“We have a team of highly capable engineers who are encouraged to think differently and challenge conventional approaches. Seeing that culture recognised externally is particularly rewarding and reflects the contribution the whole team is making to the continued development of the business.”

The winners will be announced at the Innovation Awards ceremony at Eastside Rooms in Birmingham on 13 November.

For Randle, the shortlist provides further recognition of a business that combines engineering consultancy with the development of its own intellectual property and technology, helping customers tackle increasingly complex engineering challenges.

Founded in 1994 by automotive engineer Steve Randle, Randle Engineering provides independent engineering consultancy services across design, analysis and simulation. The company supports OEMs and suppliers across a range of sectors, applying first-principles engineering to the development of complex mechanical systems.
